The new Australian Safety Standard for Movable Soccer Goals weighing 28kg or more commenced on 31 December 2010. This mandatory national standard applies to all portable goals on regular turf and artificial turf (synthetic pitches).
These changes to the standard are welcomed by PILA as it will see an end to the often dangerous back yard or cheap fabrication, leaving only compliant and safe goal posts on the market. PILA is very pleased to announce that our current range of portable soccer goal posts (senior, junior and futsal) all comply with the new national mandatory standard and are backed by a 5-year warranty and certificate of compliance.
This new national regulation replaces all previous state regulations and will be enforced by the ACCC (Australian Competition and Consumer Commission) as well as the state and territory regulators. Referencing the Australian Standard AS 4866.1 2007, the new regulation has been modified slightly to make movable (portable) goal post manufacture more realistic and feasible by a professional company, without forgoing any safety elements that would prevent any injury to players.
It is now law that all clubs, grounds, venues and even individuals are only using Australian Standard compliant goal posts. To speak with one of our consultants about the new regulations, phone 1300 POLES 1 (1300 765 371) or email sales@pilagroup.com.au.
“The goals have been inspected, installed and commissioned. They have performed well and attracted many compliments. I have already been approached by another club for your company details and referred them to your site for further info.” Stephen Hancock, Northcliffe United Soccer Club
