ASB Football Park NZ Re-Opens
ASB Football Park (formerly English Park), with its new state-of-the-art artificial turf, celebrated its reopening with an open day, and an inauguration by FIFA. The project is a partnership between Christchurch City Council, New Zealand Football, Mainland Football, and FIFA.
PILA group supplied the portable goal posts through New Zealand distributor Perennial Ltd. The senior size goals are compliant to the new mandatory Australian Standard 4866.1-2007 and are perfect for synthetic or turf pitches. PILA’s Junior size and Small Sided Games goals are also perfect for multi use fields and or training.
This pitch was three years in the making and is the first of its kind in Christchurch and is a “next generation facility” according to Mayor Bob Parker.
Parker believes that the all whether pitch is a “huge step forward in our journey not just to rebuild Christchurch, but to make it cutting-edge – our bright future is emerging already”.
