Regional & Local Community Infrastructure Program

$1m more for Regional and Local Community Infrastructure Program

At the Australian Council of Local Government meeting on 18 June 2010, the Prime Minister announced additional funding of $100 million for the allocated component of the Regional and Local Community Infrastructure Program.

The application period for Round Three RLCIP $100 million opens on Monday 5 July 2010 and will close at 5pm AEST Friday 30 July 2010.

Since its inception, the Regional and Local Community Infrastructure Program has made more than $1 billion available to local government authorities to build and modernise community infrastructure.  This program has proved very valuable to local sporting organisations and councils to improve, update, and build new facilities and infrastructure.  Sporting infrastructure has so far been a popular spend in this program, including updating change and store room amenities, building new ovals, upgrading and installing lighting and updating and installing new sports goal posts.

This program has seen numerous sets of outdated, rusty and unsafe steel goal posts removed from ovals for both safety reasons and to allow for easier dual use of ovals around Australia.  A popular replacement product has been PILA group’s exclusive environmentally sustainable fibreglass Rugby and AFL goalposts.  These posts are much lighter and stronger than the steel and aluminium alternatives and are supplied with a written five year warranty.

Many other organisations, from schools, and RSL’s to scout groups and councils Australia wide have found the RLCIP useful in helping them upgrade or attain new  Flag poles.  PILA groups environmentally sustainable products have proved to be very popular item for these organisations.
