NRL Footy Show 2010 Use PILA Posts
Again this year, the NRL Footy Show chose PILA rugby league goal posts for their 2010 season final spectacular at the Sydney Opera House. PILA goal posts have previously been used for the 2008 ARL Centenary Celebrations, the 2009 NRL Season Launch, the 2010 NRL Season Launch and Hazem El Maseri’s historic kick on the Footy Show, re-enacting when Hazem El Masri officially beat Andrew Johns to become the leagues leading point scorer, to name a few official events.
PILA goal posts were chosen by the NRL Footy Show for their end of season grand final show at the Sydney Opera House in their kick for cash event. PILA goals were hired and set up as portable posts on the Opera House forecourt next to the main stage.
Sydney Harbour can produce decent winds, so the posts needed to be sturdy and secure, hence PILA’s 9m fibreglass rugby league goal posts were chosen for both safety and looks. PILA’s fibreglass goals are the most superior product available on the Australian market, being more durable, strong and visually pleasing than any other product.
Fibreglass goal posts are also light weight so are perfect for event hire jobs and as the posts come in a 2-piece design they are easy to transport around the event site. The goals are then assembled on site and are easily stood by 2 men with no need for tools or machinery, preventing damage to the site surface. To make installation even easier, PILA uses an exclusive custom bracket system to clamp the cross bar to the uprights. The brackets are adjustable at both ends of the crossbar so the crossbar can be levelled even if the ground is uneven.
Several lucky members of our team were invited to take part in the event including Birrigan Young in production, our own star NRL Toyota Cup rep player for Manly. Birrigan, who is employed in PILA’s production crew manufacturing goal posts, has just finished the 2010 season playing for the under 20′s Manly NRL side.
Birrigan rubbed shoulders at the NRL event with the likes of David Gallop, Wayne Bennett, Mark Gasnier, Braith Anasta and Anthony Minichiello, to name a few famous faces.
