PILA exhibits at Our Sporting Future Forum & the STA Regional Seminar

In the past month the PILA sales team has been on the road promoting our environmentally sustainable fibreglass and aluminium sports and streetscape products. Australia’s leading sports forum, hosted by the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) and the Standing Committee on Recreation and Sport (SCORS), was held over three days on July 28-30 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre and attracted over 500 delegates from all sectors of the sporting industry.

PILA group was an exhibitor at the three-day forum, citing this as a fantastic opportunity to keep ourselves are at the forefront of the industry, and we were privileged enough to learn from and brush arms the outstanding key note speakers at the forum. The likes of Peter Holmes a Court, co-owner of the South Sydney Rabbitohs; Management Consultant Avril Henry, Bernard Petoit; vice president of casting and performance for Cirque du Soleil and Li Cunxin; author of Mao’s Last Dancer all made outstanding and thought provoking speeches.

More recently we ventured to the Hunter valley of NSW to attend the Sports Turf Association’s (STA’s) Regional Sports Turf Seminar and Trade Show. A day of networking and education was enjoyed by around 150 delegates and industry representatives on August 17th.

The day provided an opportunity for the entire regional and north coast councils of NSW, sports turf specialists, green keepers (golf & bowling), horticulturalists, curators and students to meet with industry professionals and keep up to date with the latest from within the sports turf industry. Aside from the fantastic information provided from the speakers at the forum, delegates were provided with an opportunity to meet and talk with representatives of various suppliers and contractors who deal with the sports industry every day.

As the sole sports goal post and streetscape products representative at the show, PILA group offered product demonstrations and industry leading advice on our full range including the introduction of the new GOLME portable training goal. Exclusive to PILA group in Australia and the South Pacific, this was the first opportunity for many to see the GOLME goal in action and the feedback received was fantastic. Our miniature model of our fully portable soccer (football) goal and demonstration of our hinged based fibreglass sports posts were also a hit with the punters and all were impressed with the technical expertise that these new products can now offer. Gone are the days of old rotting or rusting timber and steel goal posts!

The PILA group staff will next be exhibiting at the 2010 Local Government Association Conference. The conference will run from October 23rd -27th, in Albury NSW.  This is the annual policy making event for the 74 councils which are members of the Local Government Association of NSW.

During the four day conference you will be able to find us at Stand 13 where we will have samples and displays of our sustainable fibreglass and aluminium goal post and flagpole products. Michael Reid and George Worland from PILA’s sales department will be attending the conference and will be able to discuss any queries you have about our full range of sports and streetscape products.
