ANZAC Oval in the Territory Upgraded to NRL Standards With the Addition of PILA Goal Posts
In 2013 the Parramatta Eels formed a partnership with the Northern Territory government to bring games to the Territory starting in Alice Springs. When news reached the Sports Advisory Committee of Alice Springs, plans were quickly put in place to upgrade the ANZAC Oval goal posts that did not meet NRL standards.
PILA supplied 15m rugby league goal posts that got the tick of approval from government and players alike.
Parramatta has signed a 4 year partnership with the Northern Territory government to increase the profile of rugby league in the Territory. This will see the Eels play 2 games in the Territory in 2014, the first a trial match against Wests Tigers was played in February. Northern Territory Chief Minister Adam Giles said “(this) government is making sure Territorians have access to top quality sporting events in first-class sporting venues and both teams have been hugely impressed with the new facilities on offer at the new-look ANZAC Oval.”
Even local boy and Parramatta halfback Luke Kelly approved of the venue saying “it’s really great, the facilities are very good”.
PILA is delighted to receive such high acclaim for our NRL goal posts.
