Aurora Stadium PILA AFL goal posts

Aurora Stadium – the “Home of AFL Football in Tasmania” Installs PILA’s AFL Goal Posts

Luring the Hawthorn Hawks and hence AFL to Tasmania was a major coup for the State Government in 2001 and has proven one of the most successful ventures in Australian sport. With Aurora Stadium (York Park) as a second home ground for the Hawks, critical games are now being played in Launceston, one of the state’s most central and easily accessed cities, attracting locals and tourists alike with superb transport options including Spirit 1 and 2 for crossing Bass Strait.

York Park was already a centre of sporting and cultural life in the heart of Launceston and the northern region. In order to meet AFL standards and become a world-class stadium and entertainment venue it underwent a multi-million dollar upgrade and was transformed into the “home of AFL football in Tasmania”, as well as a prestigious function and conference centre, and host to major events and concerts including Sir Elton John, Jimmy Barnes, the Crusty Demons and A-League Soccer.

PILA AFL Goal Posts

And now its metamorphosis to establish the venue as a major Australian stadium is complete with the installation of the best AFL goal posts available. PILA’s AFL goal posts exceed the AFL’s and Australian standards, providing the safest structural equipment for our elite AFL players.

Uncomplicated Assessment and Customisation

PILA’s Managing Director, Reece Wooldridge, was able to apply his 22 years of industry experience to remotely assess Aurora’s existing footings via diagrams, photos and information supplied from Aurora to customise the goal posts to exactly fit without having to modify the ground. This saved time and money for Aurora, bypassing needless and time-taking inspections.

Aurora Stadium has joined the constantly growing list of major Australian stadiums using PILA’s goal posts, with our posts now in almost all major Australian stadiums, to name but a few – the MCG, the SCG, ANZ Stadium (NSW), Spotless Stadium (Sydney Showground Stadium, NSW), Metricon Stadium (Gold Coast, QLD), Simonds Stadium (Kardinia Park, VIC), TIO Stadium (NT), BCU Stadium (Coffs Harbour, NSW), Patersons Stadium (WA), and now Aurora Stadium (TAS).
