Burnett Heads Celebrates New PILA Multi-Sport Goal Posts at Jack Norgate Oval

The Burnett Heads community will be celebrating the new goal posts at Jack Norgate Oval tomorrow with a community football game and a barbecue.

Burnett Heads families are welcome to come along at 3pm to join the fun and recognise the community fundraising effort that secured the goal posts.

“It was fantastic to have a range of local groups come together to raise money for these multi-sport goal posts that will benefit the Burnett Head community,” Burnett Heads Progress and Sports Association president Chris McLoughlin said.

“These goal posts have been 100% funded by the Burnett Heads Progress and Sports Association, Crafty Ladies Activity Group and the Burnett Heads Community Raffles at the Lighthouse Hotel.

“To see these different community groups come together to fundraise for a great local project shows what a small community achieve when it works together.”

There will be a short ceremony unveiling a plaque that recognises the contribution of these groups and local businesses who installed the posts.

“It’s been wonderful to see so many children and their parents using these goal posts in the last couple of weeks and we invite families to join us as we celebrate them,” Mr McLoughlin said.

“The barbecue will be fundraising for the Burnett Heads Progress and Sports Association’s new local youth group which is attracting plenty of kids to its activities.”
